The Rider From Antioch — Gilles de Montbard is not one of the famous knights of the Crusade — not a man of large holdings or powerful family, not a name that appears in the songs being written about the campaign. He finds a woman at a spring in 1119 Crusader States, and what follows requires a quality of judgment that the songs about great knights do not prepare a man to exercise.
