Lamplight Grammar teaches a full year of third-grade grammar through one continuing story — Green Hollow Farm. Every day, your child works one sentence from that story.
Each day takes 15–20 minutes and follows the same simple rhythm:
- Explore It! — look up the day’s vocabulary word and use it in a sentence
- Spot It! — find and mark the grammar elements learned so far
- Polish It! — fix the capitalization and punctuation errors
- Hint It! — a nudge on the newest skill that never gives away the answer
- Rewrite It! — copy the corrected sentence in careful handwriting
New skills arrive one at a time through simple two-page Know It! lessons, then stay in the daily sentences for the rest of the year. That is where mastery comes from: not tests, not drills — daily practice on real sentences your child actually wants to read, because the story keeps going.
There are no tests in this program. The daily marked page shows you exactly what your child knows. If a week feels easy, that is mastery arriving.
