Prefixes & Suffixes I — Practice App (Grades 3–6)
Every strong reader and writer knows that words are built, not memorized. A student who knows that un- means "not or opposite of" and -ful means "full of" can unlock the meaning of hundreds of words they've never seen before — without a dictionary. That's what this app builds.
Prefixes & Suffixes I works through 48 of the most common English word parts — two new ones each week for 24 weeks. Each word part gets three kinds of practice: Flashcards to learn the meaning, Quiz to test recognition, and Use It to find the prefix or suffix hiding inside real vocabulary words and apply it in context. A word part is mastered after three correct answers in a row. Miss one and it comes back until it sticks. Mastered word parts cycle back for review so nothing fades.
A placement check lets students skip ahead past word parts they already know. Multiple students can keep separate profiles, each with their own progress and mastery record.
