Most reading comprehension products measure exposure — how many questions a child answered. This one measures mastery.
Reading Comprehension Mastery — Grade 3 places your student with a quick placement test, then builds skill through short focused passages and longer sustained texts, covering everything a third grader needs across informational and literary reading:
- Main idea, inference, and text evidence
- Theme, character motivation, and story structure
- Cause and effect, sequencing, and paragraph connections
- Author's purpose, text features, and point of view
- Vocabulary in context and figurative language
- Comparing across paired texts — both literature and informational
When your student misses a question, the app doesn't just mark it wrong. It highlights the exact sentence in the passage where the answer lives, then explains why — teaching your child how to use the text, not just guess better next time.
Mastery means something here. A skill isn't marked mastered after a lucky guess or three quick answers — it requires getting multiple different questions right, drawn from multiple different passages, with strong accuracy sustained over time. When your student earns a certificate, it reflects real, demonstrated understanding.
