📦 Shipping Notice for Print Books
To keep shipping costs as low as possible, we recommend placing smaller print book orders whenever practical. Orders that exceed our print partner's U.S. shipping weight limit may be fulfilled from a U.K. facility, resulting in significantly higher shipping charges. If you're purchasing several print books, placing two or more smaller orders will often reduce your shipping costs.
The Broken Wrist — The surgeon Bernard has been a surgeon for twenty years and his right hand is broken at the wrist, broken two hours ago when his horse went down on the Crusader road and he knew it was broken because he had broken wrists before. His patient Thomas needs an amputation at mid-thigh and will die of sepsis within four days if he doesn't get it. Bernard cannot do the amputation himself. He can tell someone else how.
