📦 Shipping Notice for Print Books
To keep shipping costs as low as possible, we recommend placing smaller print book orders whenever practical. Orders that exceed our print partner's U.S. shipping weight limit may be fulfilled from a U.K. facility, resulting in significantly higher shipping charges. If you're purchasing several print books, placing two or more smaller orders will often reduce your shipping costs.
The Mapmaker's Wife — Inês Fernandes sits at her husband's drafting table in Lisbon in 1520 with an unfinished commission and a decision she has been postponing for three weeks. Diogo sailed with the India fleet in 1511 and came back changed in the way men come back from long voyages — not diminished, but altered in ways hard to name. The story is about what Inês does with the commission, and what the commission reveals about what she has been carrying since he returned.
