📦 Shipping Notice for Print Books
To keep shipping costs as low as possible, we recommend placing smaller print book orders whenever practical. Orders that exceed our print partner's U.S. shipping weight limit may be fulfilled from a U.K. facility, resulting in significantly higher shipping charges. If you're purchasing several print books, placing two or more smaller orders will often reduce your shipping costs.
The Weaver of Byssos — Paulos makes byssus — the finest linen, reserved for the burial cloths of the wealthiest families in Alexandria in 50 BC — and a commission arrives for the finest grade to be completed in seven days. Seven days is not possible for byssus of the finest grade. The person it is for cannot wait for the time the work requires. The story is about what a craftsman does when the demand and the nature of the work cannot be reconciled.
