📦 Shipping Notice for Print Books
To keep shipping costs as low as possible, we recommend placing smaller print book orders whenever practical. Orders that exceed our print partner's U.S. shipping weight limit may be fulfilled from a U.K. facility, resulting in significantly higher shipping charges. If you're purchasing several print books, placing two or more smaller orders will often reduce your shipping costs.
The Chart-Maker's Correction — Abraham Cresques has been making maps in Majorca for twenty-three years, and he has learned to distrust sailors in the specific way cartographers learn to — not because sailors lie, but because what a sailor knows is not the same thing as what can be drawn. In 1372 he is working through a correction that traces back to a source error, and the question is whether correcting what is on the map will cost more than leaving it wrong.
