📦 Shipping Notice for Print Books
To keep shipping costs as low as possible, we recommend placing smaller print book orders whenever practical. Orders that exceed our print partner's U.S. shipping weight limit may be fulfilled from a U.K. facility, resulting in significantly higher shipping charges. If you're purchasing several print books, placing two or more smaller orders will often reduce your shipping costs.
The Glass Eye — Maestro Orsini makes eyes — not goblets or decorative pieces, but prosthetic glass eyes for people who have lost them, in Venice on Murano during the Renaissance. His twelve-year-old apprentice has been in the workshop for eight months and is beginning to understand the distinction the Maestro draws between a thing made to be admired and a thing made to give back to a person what they lost. If it is done well, no one knows it is there. That is a different standard than beautiful.
