📦 Shipping Notice for Print Books
To keep shipping costs as low as possible, we recommend placing smaller print book orders whenever practical. Orders that exceed our print partner's U.S. shipping weight limit may be fulfilled from a U.K. facility, resulting in significantly higher shipping charges. If you're purchasing several print books, placing two or more smaller orders will often reduce your shipping costs.
The Last Commission — Marcus was apprenticed to the sculptor Vettius for eleven years and has now inherited the workshop, the tools, and an unfinished commission: a portrait bust of a senator who died before the marble arrived. No patron has contracted the work. No one will pay for it. Marcus works alone in the late afternoon light, finishing what his master began, for reasons that have nothing to do with money.
