📦 Shipping Notice for Print Books
To keep shipping costs as low as possible, we recommend placing smaller print book orders whenever practical. Orders that exceed our print partner's U.S. shipping weight limit may be fulfilled from a U.K. facility, resulting in significantly higher shipping charges. If you're purchasing several print books, placing two or more smaller orders will often reduce your shipping costs.
The Painter's Last Commission — Jan Adriaenssen is the restorer in Antwerp in 1651, which means that when a cloth merchant buys an Annunciation panel at an estate sale and brings it to him to be cleaned, Jan is the person who spends the first hour establishing what kind of painter made it and what the painter found worth solving. The commission is the commission. What Jan finds in the paint is not.
