📦 Shipping Notice for Print Books
To keep shipping costs as low as possible, we recommend placing smaller print book orders whenever practical. Orders that exceed our print partner's U.S. shipping weight limit may be fulfilled from a U.K. facility, resulting in significantly higher shipping charges. If you're purchasing several print books, placing two or more smaller orders will often reduce your shipping costs.
The Two Silversmiths — The commission from Bernardo Acciaioli arrives at Giovanni Amati's workshop on a Tuesday and at Luca Ferrini's workshop on a Thursday in Florence in 1402, and neither man knows about the other for three weeks. A patron who believes competition produces better work has hired two silversmiths for the same piece. What each man brings to what follows is the willingness to lose an argument if the argument is worth losing.
