The Cornerstone Academics Vanguard Literature Grade 7 Poetry Companion Student Workbook gives students a full year of poetry study woven into the rhythm of the classical literature program.
Thirty-six original poems — one for each week of the school year — invite students to read carefully, notice how language creates meaning, and carry great lines by heart. At the Grade 7 level, poetry study develops the capacity to sustain attention through difficult passages, identify the specific choices a poet makes, and discuss those choices with precision. The curriculum follows a Charlotte Mason–inspired approach that keeps memorization and recitation at the center while building the vocabulary for serious literary observation.
